When you reach retirement eligibility, you will get a monthly annuity payment for the rest of your life.

Upon approval, the PUC may reimburse an employee for certain higher education costs that are job related and are taken at an accredited college or university as defined by Texas Education Code, Chapter 61.003 for the completion of a degree program.
State agency employees are entitled to paid leave on a national, state, and skeleton crew holiday that is observed by the State as outlined in Texas Government Code, Chapter 662. If a holiday falls on the weekend, it is not observed.
The PUC must have enough state employees on duty on a skeleton crew holiday to conduct the public business of the agency. An employee who works on an observed national or state holiday, will earn holiday compensatory time and will be allowed to use it within 12 months from the date earned.
For observed holidays, please review our holiday schedule.
The PUC understands that work-life balance is important and to help you achieve this balance we offer flexible work schedules, wellness incentives and a variety of leaves such as annual, sick, wellness, and bereavement.
For more information on the benefits that are offered by the PUC, please review our Benefits Overview for Full-Time Employees.
